Here’s what I see… most communication is non-verbal. In other words, most of what we “say” to each other comes in movement and wordless sound – a sigh, a tilt of the head, a glance, a smile. Perhaps we would learn more about communication if we attended to these aspects of our relationships.
I agree – non-verbal communication is a large part of communication for sure. I think it’s about 50/50 split between verbal communication and non-verbal. Tone has a lot to do with what is in our words when we say them and then there are all these non-verbal actions that either back up our intentions or not. Thanks for sharing Val.
